Barrisol® Clim®: for clean, healthy air and a constant temperature. Barrisol® Clim® evens out the temperature of both your walls and the air, wherever you are in the room.
The extremely low temperature difference between the head and the feet of an occupant (1.0°C in heating mode and 0.5°C in cooling mode), alongside the almost imperceptible air speed, means that Barrisol® Clim® can provide unparalleled comfort. Unlike “static” air conditioning ceilings (which use hydraulic tubes), Barrisol® Clim® offers almost unlimited power. The admissible power of 600W/m2 while heating and 550W/m2 while cooling ensures that it can meet your heating and cooling needs, wherever you are on the planet. This is an excellent example of a create, and aesthetic, use of light. Location: Brandhorst Museum - Germany.
"The Contemporary Art museum of Munich was inaugurated last May. Its architecture is based on a design and ecological concept. The architect Sauerbruch Hutton chose Barrisol Lumière® to light and enhance the exposed works of the XXth century among which the Andy Wahrol's famous paintings. Indeed, Barrisol Lumière® diffuses the light in a sweet and homogeneous way on the whole exhibition space. Furthermore, the Barrisol sheets are 100%, recyclable and are so perfectly adapted in this modern building turned to sustainable environment." - Courtesy of www.barrisol.ca. The design of the Vancouver UBC Aquatic Center (which includes a vertical Barrisol translucent screen) is featured this month in the Canadian Architect Magazine (August 2018 Issue, page 24 - 29). "Another distinctive element is the use of light. At the juncture delineating the family and recreational area to the west and the competition area to the east, a series of Y-shaped structural columns support a six-meter-wide skylight. The shifting sun casts patterns on the Barrisol screen, offering a textural element that helps mitigate any sense of sterility in the super white environment. The textile like feel of the material, as well as the humidity resistant large-scale tegular acoustic paneling system help to reduce noise and glare. The entire building is effectively a tabula rosa, a screen reflecting the surrounding environment, and at night it's interior illumination - especially it's suspended LED lighting - transforms it into an architectural lantern." Barrisol® originated in France over 40 years ago within the company NORMALU S.A., which was founded by Mr Fernand Scherrer in 1967 under a S.A.R.L. type. NORMALU S.A. commercialized two licenses in aluminum tracks: SYMA - SYSTEM and TSI. The company began to manufacture the first stretched ceilings in 1969. Their first Barrisol® patent of registration was in 1975, the same year they won a Silver Medal in BATIMAT for the Barrisol® stretch ceiling. Their factories and offices, BARRISOL® and NORMALU S.A. are located at the edge of Rhine, not far from the dam of Kembs, in the area of the 3 borders (France-Germany-Switzerland) and just 10 minutes from the international airport of Basel-Mulhouse-Freibrug. Barrisol® is presently available in 80 countries and continues to receive numerous awards for its architectural innovation. We are proud to be partners with such a reputable and environmentally responsible company. While you are shopping at Park Royal South take a moment to look up and find the 17 high gloss white Barrisol ceilings installed throughout the mall corridors. General Contractor: Bird Construction Group Barrisol Installation: Barrisol BC Look for the vertical, translucent, Barrisol "screen' that is dividing the two pool areas. We think it's a great design. Barrisol is a perfect solution for the environmental demands of swimming pools areas. Thermally stable from -40 to +50°C, Barrisol does not attract dust, is mold resistant, water impermeable and requires no painting or regular maintenance. Barrisol also assists with the noise reverberation problems experienced in swimming pool areas. Architects: MacLennan Jaunkalns Miller Architects and Acton Ostry Architects General Contractor: Heatherbrae Builders Barrisol Installation: Barrisol BC Paul Lafrance’s TV show, Custom-Built, on channel HGTV featured the Barrisol stretch ceiling system (colour: Blanc Orchidee #02010). The Episode is called "Bright White Kitchen" and includes the installation of a high gloss, white Barrisol ceiling . Thanks to the Barrisol team in Ontario, LG Interiors, for completing the installation. Click on the image to the left to watch the full episode. Please note that the Barrisol ceiling does not come into play until the 3/4 mark of the show (about 15 minutes in) and there are commercials that must be viewed. Spring is here. Let the light in! In our last post we explained to you how to back light translucent Barrisol ceilings to create custom lighting in your space. Today we would like to show you how Barrisol's high gloss membranes can help you to increase the perceived ceiling height in a room. This method works especially well when there is natural light or up lighting. An added benefit to these reflective ceilings is that a modern clean look can be achieved while enhancing the room's acoustic properties. Would you like to receive a quote? 2015 looks like it is going to be a busy year for the construction, architecture & design industry here in greater Vancouver, BC. Whether you are working on a small project.... or a large one... we can add some light to your space with custom translucent Barrisol ceilings... To achieve even back lighting we recommend either florescent tubes (1 ft from the Barrisol ceiling membrane and 1 ft on center) or LEDs. When back lighting with LEDs the quantity and the spacing of the lights will need to be determined by the specific LEDs selected. To view more photos of back lit ceilings please visit our Lighting Gallery.
